At Wrexham & DCS 'Fyre' was awarded BET OF BREED and WORKING GROUP 1, handled for us by Haley Jones. This gives him his final points for his SHOW CERTIFICATE OF MERIT and gives him the title of  Ice Gangsta's Ball Of Fire for Chayo (imp DEU) JW ShCM

October 2017

We had a day out at Selby CS open show where 'Fyre' - Ice Gangsta’s Ball Of Fire for Chayo (imp DEU) won the Junior and Open classes, then went on to win BEST OF BREED under breed specialist Barry Wanless and then went on to place WORKING GROUP 4. To make the day extra special, 'Whitney' - Chayo One Moment In Time won the Post Graduate class to take her final points for the JUNIOR WARRANT.

At Midland Counties championship show, the judge Hedd Richards awarded 'Brad' - CH Chayo Klass Act JW the RESERVE DOG CC and 'Precious' - CH Chayo Blue Diamond (ai) the RESERVE BITCH CC, 'Fyre' - Ice Gangsta’s Ball Of Fire for Chayo (imp DEU) won the Junior Dog class and our 'Whitney' - Chayo One Moment In Time won the Junior Bitch class.

Dawn Rathmell judged at Fylde Kennel Association open show where 'Fyre' – Ice Gangsta’s Ball Of Fire for Chayo (imp DEU) won BEST OF BREED and WORKING GROUP 2

A trip to the South Wales Kennel Association championship show saw judge Ron James award 'Whitney' - Chayo One Moment In Time winning the Puppy Bitch class and 'Precious' - CH Chayo Blue Diamond (ai) the RESERVE CC. Outside of the breed ring 'Midas' Chayo Golden Touch ShCM, co-owned with Anne Nevinson won the Pets As Therapy stakes judged by Jeff Luscott which qualifies him for the finals at Crufts 2018. Midas is the 3rd Chayo dog to qualify for these prestigious finals over the years.

September 2017

Driffield championship show was a very wet and muddy affair but it certainly didn't affect the Chayo show team where 'Fyre' - Ice Gangsta’s Ball Of Fire for Chayo (imp DEU) placed 1st in both Junior Dog and Yearling Dog classes, 'Jenson' - CH Chayo Formula One (ai) won a large Open Dog class and picked up the RESERVE CC and 'Midas' Chayo Golden Touch ShCM, co-owned and handled by Anne Nevinson was placed in the same class. The girls were certainly the stars of the day though, with 'Whitney' - Chayo One Moment In Time winning the Puppy Bitch class but then going on to be awarded the RESERVE CC, also gaining her a Stud Book Number and 'Precious' - CH Chayo Blue Diamond (ai) winning Open Bitch and the BITCH CC. This gives Precious a total of 8 Challenge Certificates and makes her our most successful bitch in the show ring! What a fabulous day, with Whitney also placing VHC in the Puppy Stakes and Jenson shortlisted in the Champion Stakes. Our thanks to breed judge Veronica Avory and stakes judge Dave Killilea.

'Fyre' - Ice Gangsta’s Ball Of Fire for Chayo (imp DEU) was star of the day at Pollard Canine Society where he was awarded BEST OF BREED and WORKING GROUP 1 by our judge Kevin Whitehead.

'Whitney' - Chayo One Moment In Time had a great day at Darlington championship show where she was awarded 1st in Puppy Bitch and BEST PUPPY IN BREED by judge Mike John and then went on to the Eukanuba/Dog World Pup Of The Year Competition and won the heat! Our thanks to Mr Gilchrist the judge.

Unfortunately I was unable to travel to Richmond championship show, so my thanks to Lisa Bridges who took on the handling of my dogs under judge Kari Jarvinen from Finland. 'Whitney' - Chayo One Moment In Time was awarded 1st in Puppy Bitch and BEST PUPPY IN BREED and 'Precious' - CH Chayo Blue Diamond (ai) was 2nd in Open Bitch. Whitney then went on to be awarded PUPPY GROUP 2 under Mrs Sandra Marshall. Meanwhile, 'Jenson' - CH Chayo Formula One (ai) was entered into the Champion Stakes where he was placed 3rd from 40 entries under judge Kevin Young.

The month started with a trip to City of Birmingham where Marion Sargent placed 'Fyre' - Ice Gangsta’s Ball Of Fire for Chayo (imp DEU) 3rd in both Junior and Post Graduate Dog classes, 'Midas' Chayo Golden Touch ShCM 3rd in Open Dog, 'Whitney' - Chayo One Moment In Time 1st in Puppy Bitch and 'Precious' - CH Chayo Blue Diamond (ai) was 2nd in Open Bitch. Whitney then went on to be awarded BEST PUPPY IN BREED.

August 2017

With kennels so busy for the bank holiday, Hannah kindly took the kids to the Scottish Kennel Club championship show where our judge Delores Montgomery awarded 'Precious' - CH Chayo Blue Diamond (ai) her 7th CC and 'Midas' Chayo Golden Touch ShCM another Reserve CC. Our red boy 'Fyre' - Ice Gangsta’s Ball Of Fire for Chayo (imp DEU), just back from his Irish trip, won both the Junior Dog and Post Graduate Dog class and 'Jenson' - CH Chayo Formula One (ai) was placed 3rd in Open Dog. In the bitch classes, 'Whitney' - Chayo One Moment In Time won the Puppy Bitch class, Karen Gourlay's  'Honey' - Chayo Liquid Gold was 3rd in Post Graduate Bitch and Marina Dick's 'Breeze' - Chayo Northern Breeze was placed Reserve in Limit Bitch. My thanks to Lisa Bridges and Haley Jones for their handling skills.

Hannah Downie also handled our home bred Pug boy 'Ross' - Chayo Dream Boy to 3rd in Junior Dog, qualifying him for Crufts 2018.

'Fyre' - Ice Gangsta’s Ball Of Fire for Chayo (imp DEU) took a trip to Ireland where, at Clonmel championship show, judge Mr M Mahonen awarded him the RESERVE GREEN STAR and then at Killarney championship show the judge Darren Walker awarded him the GREEN STAR and RESERVE BEST OF BREED. Fyre was expertly handled in Ireland for us by Sarah Gibbons.

A busy day at the Welsh Kennel Club champ show and what a great day it was despite the weather! 'Midas' Chayo Golden Touch ShCM, co-owned and handled by Anne Nevinson was awarded the DOG CC and 'Precious' - CH Chayo Blue Diamond (ai) was awarded the BITCH CC and BEST OF BREED, our thanks go to our judge Pauline Luxmoore-Ball. Other results were: 'Fyre' = Ice Gangsta’s Ball Of Fire for Chayo (imp DEU) who placed 2nd in Junior Dog 'Charlie' - Chayo Silver Fox JW (ai) placed 2nd in his first Limit Dog class, 'Jenson' - CH Chayo Formula One (ai) who came 2nd in Open Dog and 'Whitney' - Chayo One Moment In Time who was placed 2nd in Puppy Bitch.

Keith Baldwin judged at Bournemouth champ show where 'Midas' Chayo Golden Touch ShCM, co-owned by Anne Nevinson, was handed the RESERVE CC.

July 2017

With no championships shows this weekend, we took ourselves off to Alfreton & DCS open show where 'Charlie' - Chayo Silver Fox JW (ai) was awarded BEST OF BREED by judge Joan Sheehan and then went on to be awarded WORKING GROUP 1 under judge Kevin Whitehead before taking RESERVE BEST IN SHOW under judge Dorothy Park. To top the day off, he completed his points towards his SHOW CERTIFICATE OF MERIT!

The weekend of Leeds Championship show and with the kennels so busy I stayed at home whilst Anne and Tony took 'Midas' Chayo Golden Touch ShCM who gained a 3rd in Open Dog under Steve Myring and Hannah took 'Fyre' = Ice Gangsta’s Ball Of Fire for Chayo (imp DEU) who won the Junior Dog class and came 2nd in the Grauate Dog class, handled by Haley Jones.

Derek Smith judged at NW&PBS championship show where 'Precious' - CH Chayo Blue Diamond (ai) added another CC to hr growing collection by winning open bitch. 'Ricky' - Chayo Classic Design was awarded 3rd in Open Dog, 'Breeze' - Chayo Northern Breeze, owned by Marina Dick was placed VHC in Post Graduate Bitch and 'Silva' - Chayo Silver Shimmer (ai) was awarded 3rd in Limit Bitch.

A journey to East of England championship show saw Robin Searle award 'Midas' Chayo Golden Touch ShCM, co-owned and handled by Anne Nevinson, the RESERVE DOG CC. 'Jenson' - Chayo Formula One won the Open Dog class and 'Precious' - CH Chayo Blue Diamond (ai) was placed 2nd in Open Bitch. We had a lovely day celebrating our 3 new champions with fellow exhibitors in the sunshine.

3 WEEKS - 3 CHAMPIONS!

Windsor championship show offered Chayo the unbelievable! Never before has a UK malamute breeder made up 3 champions in just 3 weeks!

Our sincere thanks to judge Robin Newhouse who awarded 'Ricky' - Chayo Classic Design his 3rd and crowning CC, making him our 18th UK champion. Robin then went and honoured us with the double, giving 'Precious' - CH Chayo Blue Diamond (ai) another BITCH CC and BEST OF BREED! 'Midas' Chayo Golden Touch ShCM co-owned and handled by Anne Nevinson was placed 2nd in Limit Dog. To say we are over the moon is an understatement! Our thanks also to Hannah for her help in the challenge.

June 2017

What an incredible day at Blackpool Championship Show! With other dogs out of coat, today gave us the opportunity to bring 'Bart' - CH Chayo My Prerogative back into the ring and like the true professional that he is, he took it all in his stride as if he'd never been away. We are so incredibly proud of what this dog has achieved and today he put the cherry on top of the cake by winning BEST DOG and his 40th CC. He remains the BREED RECORD HOLDER by quite a margin and with that he will retire from the breed ring with honours. With that bitter sweet moment, we also celebrate CHAYO'S 17th CHAMPION with 'Precious' - Chayo Blue Diamond (ai) taking the BITCH CC and BEST of BREED, then going on to place WORKING GROUP 2. Our friend Jo Sugden brought 'Elise' - CH Chayo Elise back into the ring in the Veteran Bitch class, handled by Sam Moore, to take the RESERVE BITCH CC. Elise is the dam to Precious, so we had a lovely Mother/Daughter line up for the bitch tickets. 'Fyre' - Ice Gangsta’s Ball Of Fyre for Chayo (imp DEU) achieved a respectable 2nd in Junior Dog, 'Breeze' - Chayo Northern Breeze, owned by Marina Dick won the Post Graduate Bitch class and 'Keiko' - Chayo Bootilicious of Milagre ShCM RL1 owned by Gill Reid was placed 3rd in Open Bitch. Our sincere thanks to breed judge Noel Melling and group judge Jeff Luscott for making today so special.

We had a lovely day at the Royal Cheshire Show where 'Charlie' - Chayo Silver Fox JW (ai) was handed BEST OF BREED and 'Timmy' - Chayo Time After Time won BEST PUPPY IN BREED. Thanks to our judge Gill Reid and thanks Rob Jones for the photo of smiley Charlie

Border Union championship show was a scorcher! The weather was hot but Chayo were certainly cooking in the ring! Judge Jo Sugden awarded 'Precious' - Chayo Blue Diamond (ai) the BITCH CC and BEST OF BREED over 'Jenson' - Chayo Formula One who took his 3rd CC making him a UK CHAMPION! What an absolutely fantastic day it was with 'Timmy' - Chayo Time After Time winning BEST PUPPY DOG, representing the next generation. Precious then went on to be awarded WORKING GROUP 4 under judge Colin Reed. Our thanks to both judges for such wonderful results! Other results for Chayo today were 'Ricky' - Chayo Classic Design who placed 3rd in Open Dog, 'Whitney' - Chayo One Moment In Time placed 2nd in Puppy Bitch, 'Breeze' - Chayo Northern Breeze, owned by Marina Dick was placed 2nd in Post Graduate Bitch and 'Cerys' - Chayo Liquid Gold owned by Karen Gourlay was awarded VHC in Limit Bitch.

 

Bridgette Bodle judged us at Southern counties championship show where 'Midas' Chayo Golden Touch ShCM, co-owned and handled by Anne Nevinson was awarded the RESERVE DOG CC and 'Precious' - Chayo Blue Diamond (ai) was awarded the RESERVE BITCH CC. 'Whitney' - Chayo One Moment In Time shone once more to be awarded BEST PUPPY IN BREED. 'Jenson' - Chayo Formula One was placed 2nd in Open Dog and 'Timmy' - Chayo Time After Time was placed 3rd in Puppy Dog.

May 2017

A day out at Bath championship show saw judge Graham Hill award 'Jenson' - Chayo Formula One the RESERVE CC. Our young star 'Whitney' - Chayo One Moment In Time continued her winning ways by taking her class. 'Jessie' Chayo Inspiration JW and 'Midas' Chayo Golden Touch ShCM were both awarded Reserve in their classes.

News from the Alaskan Malamute Club of the UK open show where 'Oreo' - CH Chayo Cookie Monster for Wintadreama ShCM, owned by Sarah Towers and Neil Rivers was awarded Reserve Best Bitch by judge Anne Nevinson. We are also incredibly pleased to hear that the AMCUK Malamute of the Year Awards 2016 placed 'Jessica' - Chayo Rumour Has It for Cristakell, owned by Mike and Chris John, TOP BROOD BITCH 2016 and in the AMCUK Working Malamute of the Year Awards 2016 'Echo' - Chayo Could It Be Magic, owned by Pat and Ray Castell was announced as TOP WEIGHT PULL DOG 2016. Congratulations to all.

We continue the month in Scotland at the SKC championship show where 'Whitney' - Chayo One Moment In Time continues to shine with BEST PUPPY IN BREED and WORKING PUPPY GROUP 2 We are getting so many fantastic comments about this young girl, she is certainly turning some heads! Our thanks to Breed judge Chris John and Group judge Mr G Haran. Our girl 'Precious' - Chayo Blue Diamond (ai) was awarded the RESERVE CC after winning the Open Bitch class, so a good day for the girls! 'Timmy' - Chayo Time After Time was placed 2nd in Puppy Dog, 'Jenson' - Chayo Formula One was placed 3rd in Open Dog, 'Breeze' - Chayo Northern Breeze, owned by Marina Dick was placed 2nd in Post Graduate Bitch and 'Jessie' Chayo Inspiration JW won a lovely Limit Bitch class.

We had a lovely, sunny day at Ruthin Canine Society open show with great results. 'Jessie' - Chayo Inspiration JW was awarded BEST OF BREED and WORKING GROUP 1 and 'Whitney' - Chayo One Moment In Time won BEST PUPPY IN BREED and WORKING PUPPY GROUP 1 before going on to win RESERVE BEST PUPPY IN SHOW. What a fantastic weekend at Birmingham National championship show with brilliant results! Our judge Keith Nathan saw fit to award 'Jenson' - Chayo Formula One the Open Dog class, his second CC and BEST OF BREED. 'Jessie' - Chayo Inspiration JW was awarded her first CC from the Open Bitch class and 'Whitney' - Chayo One Moment In Time beat her brother 'Timmy' - Chayo Time After Time in the puppy challenge to be awarded BEST PUPPY IN BREED and then went on to be awarded PUPPY GROUP 1 under judge Steve Hall! 'Midas' Chayo Golden Touch ShCM won a lovely Limit Dog class to complete an amazing day. Thanks to Anne Nevinson and Lisa Bridges as always for their handling skills.

        

April 2017

Such a lovely day at North West Canine Association open show. Our sweetheart 'Jessie' - Chayo Inspiration JW took another BEST OF BREED and went on to win a GROUP 2. 'Timmy' - Chayo Time After Time pipped his sister Whitney to the post to win BEST PUPPY IN BREED . Thanks to both judges Kevin Whitehead and Mrs Liz Stannard.

We had a wonderful day at WELKS championship show under judge Jeff Luscott. We started with our little lad 'Timmy' - Chayo Time After Time winning the Minor Puppy Dog class and this was matched by his litter sister 'Whitney' - Chayo One Moment In Time who won the Minor Puppy Bitch class but then went on to be awarded BEST PUPPY IN BREED at her first show! Our star of the day was 'Jenson' - Chayo Formula One, who won the Open Dog class and went on to win his first CC before being awarded BEST OF BREED. Other Chayo successes were 'Breeze' - Chayo Northern Breeze, owned by Marina Dick who was placed 2nd in Post Graduate Bitch and 'Jessie' - Chayo Inspiration JW who placed 3rd in Limit Bitch.

At the Working & Pastoral Breeds Association of Wales championship show, our star was 'Timmy' - Chayo Time After Time, who at 6 months and 3 days old won the Puppy Dog class and went on to win BEST PUPPY IN BREED. Our beautiful young girl 'Jessie' - Chayo Inspiration JW was awarded Reserve Best Bitch and 'Midas' - Chayo Golden Touch ShCM was 3rd in the Open Dog class, all under judge Caroline Friends-Rees.

Some great news from Ray and Pat Castell who tell us that 'Echo' - Chayo Could It Be Magic WWPD has won the 101lb+ class and Most Weight Pulled for the season in the Eastleigh weight pull championship 2016/17. What a great achievement, well done!

March 2017

Another great end to a month with confirmation of a JUNIOR WARRANT for 'Charlie' - Chayo Silver Fox.

Chayo also helped to represent the Alaskan Malamute at Discover Dogs when 'Midas' - Chayo Golden Touch spent the day with his joint owner Anne Nevinson in the breed booth being fussed over by members of the public. It looks like he really enjoyed his day!

With our malamutes out of coat, Chayo was represented at  Crufts 2017 on Terrier day with a 2nd place in the Puppy Dog class 'Eddy' - Eddy Eldorado Dos Makuas For Chayo (imp PRT), the youngest puppy in a class of 8. Our thanks judge Mr Stuart Plane.

        

Ashton in Makerfield Show turned out to be a really fun day all round. Eddy the Jack Russell Terrier 'Eddy' - Eldorado Dos Makuas For Chayo (Imp PRT) won Best AVNSC Terrier Puppy and TERRIER PUPPY GROUP 2 . Thanks to our judge Tim Ball and thanks to Hannah for handling him so well in the Group as we all clashed. 'Fyre' - Ice Gangsta's Ball Of Fire For Chayo (Imp DEU), our redhead Mal picked up another BEST PUPPY IN BREED and a super WORKING PUPPY GROUP 2 - thanks Haley for a lovely job. Our 'Jenson' - Chayo Formula One returned to the ring to take BEST OF BREED, WORKING GROUP 1 and RESERVE BEST IN SHOW. Huge thanks to our judge Steve Atkinson.

February 2017

To end what has been a fabulous month, we have received confirmation of a JUNIOR WARRANT for 'Jessie' who will now be Chayo Inspiration JW and is Crufts qualified for life!

WOW! Whilst I was on puppy duty at the kennels, my good friends Hannah Downie and Julie Botterill took our star Jack Russell Terrier 'Eddy' - Eldorado Dos Makuas For Chayo (Imp PRT) to Weelde, Belgium to the Internatioal Dog Show where he won BEST PUPPY IN BREED and ultimately BEST PUPPY IN SHOW! What an amazing achievement and thank you so much to Hannah for handling and to the judges who thought so highly of him.

At Billingham Synthonia CC under judge Del Richards 'Charlie' - Chayo Silver Fox takes BEST OF BREED and 'Fyre' - Ice Gangsta's Ball Of Fire For Chayo (Imp DEU) takes BEST PUPPY IN BREED. My thanks to the girls Sarah and Hayley who took them along to the show and handled them for me.

Fantastic news from Andy Davies who attended the Ladies Kennel Association of Kenya where his girl 'Honey' - Chayo Golden Nectar took BEST OF BREED and her third CC to become KENYAN CHAMPION! She then went on to win RESERVE BEST IN GROUP but then was asked back to be awarded THIRD BEST IN SHOW. Well done Andy and Honey - our first Kenyan Champion!

Another super day at Barrow & DKA. 'Eddy' - Eldorado Dos Makuas For Chayo (Imp PRT) wins Best AVNSC Puppy and TERRIER PUPPY GROUP 2 . Thanks to judge Gordon Miller. 'Charlie' - Chayo Silver Fox takes BEST OF BREED and WORKING GROUP 2 and 'Fyre' - Ice Gangsta's Ball Of Fire For Chayo (Imp DEU) takes BEST PUPPY IN BREED and wins WORKING PUPPY GROUP 1. Thanks to Haley for handling and the judge Steven Anderson.

At St Helen's & DCS  'Charlie' - Chayo Silver Fox (ai) wins BEST OF BREED and 'Fyre' - Ice Gangsta's Ball Of Fire for Chayo (Imp Deu) wins BEST PUPPY IN BREED. Charlie then went on to win WORKING GROUP 1 and Fyre PUPPY GROUP 3.Our home bred pug 'Chloe'  - Chayo Dream Baby also wins BEST OF BREED and  TOY GROUP 2. Finally, our little 'Eddie' - Eddy Eldorado Dos Makuas for Chayo (imp PRT) won BEST AVNSC TERRIER PUPPY and TERRIER PUPPY GROUP 2.  Thanks to judges Colin Barker, Lynn George-Evans and Richard Kinsey.

Fantastic news from Australia where 'Bobby' - Chayo Bedazzled  attended Bunbury show under judge Mrs L Parker (WA) and took the challenge for BEST OF BREED and  BEST IN GROUP. Fantastic work!

Another full weekend of open shows! At Huddersfield & DCS,  Steve Atkinson found his BEST OF BREED in ‘Charlie’ - Chayo Silver Fox (ai) who then went on to win GROUP 1 and BEST PUPPY IN BREED in ‘Fyre’ - Ice Gangsta's Ball of Fire for Chayo (Imp Deu) who went on to win PUPPY GROUP 3. Sunday was a visit to Jarrow & Hebburn CS where ‘Charlie’ was awarded BEST OF BREED and GROUP 3 under judge Mrs S Benyon

An amazing day at Northern Dog Club open show with our redhead baby 'Fyre' - Ice Gangsta's Ball of Fire for Chayo(Imp Deu) winning BEST PUPPY IN SHOW and our junior boy 'Charlie' - Chayo Silver Fox taking BEST OF BREED and WORKING GROUP 3. Thank you so much to our judge Robert Taylor for his valued opinion.  'Silva' - Chayo Silver Shimmer showed so well, coming 2nd in class behind Fyre. Thanks to Haley Jones and Sarah Gibbons for helping with the kids.

  

Manchester championship show certainly beat away the winter blues! Judge Mr Tom Johnston found his  BEST DOG & BEST OF BREED in 'Ricky' - RBIS, BPIS Chayo Classic Design, giving Ricky his 2nd Challenge Certificate! Ricky then went on to be shortlisted in the group by Mr Ben Reynolds-Frost. Mr Johnston also found his BEST BITCH in 'Precious' - Chayo Blue Diamond (ai) for her first CC. The Reserve Dog CC went to 'Ace' - CH Chayo Pulling Power for Lireva, owned by Averil Cawthera-Purdy to complete a fantastic line-up for Chayo! 'Fyre' - Ice Gangsta's Ball Of Fire For Chayo (Imp Deu) was awarded 3rd place in Puppy Dog, 'Charlie' - Chayo Silver Fox (ai) won the Junior Dog class and 'Jessie' - Chayo Inspiration won both the Junior Bitch class and the Post Graduate Bitch classes to complete a fantastic set of results! Fyre then competed in the Dog World Puppy Stakes and won from a large class, then was awarded overall winner of the day! Our sincere thanks to the judge Stuart Plane for thinking so highly of our boy.

   

At Worcester & Malvern CS open show 'Jessie' - Chayo Inspiration was awarded BEST OF BREED and WORKING GROUP 3. The breed judge was Kirsty Forster and the Group Judge was Bridgette Bodle, our thanks to both.

We started what we hope will be a successful year by attending North & South Shields CS open show where judge Kelly Hughes awarded 'Jessie' - Chayo Inspiration BEST OF BREED and Kevin Whitehead awarded WORKING GROUP 2 and 'Fyre' - Ice Gangsta’s Ball Of Fyre for Chayo (imp DEU) was awarded BEST PUPPY IN BREED and WORKING PUPPY GROUP 1.
